תוכל להשתמש בפתח ההזרקה גם בעטים וגם במזרקים. המחטים חייבות להיות באורך 5-8מ"מ (3/16-5/16”) ובעובי 32-28 G.
תוכל להשתמש בשניהם, אך זה הכלל: תמיד יש להזריק תחילה את האינסולין בשחרור מהיר, להמתין שעה, ולאחר מכן להזריק את האינסולין בשחרור מושהה.
