כל מי שזריקות מעוררות בו תגובה רגשית כמו פחד, חרדה או מתח, או שיש לו ביטוי גופני כמו שטפי דם, צלקות או כאב, יוכל להפיק תועלת מ-i-Port Advance™. ההתקן מועיל במיוחד לילדים ולבני משפחתם, אשר פעמים רבות חווים חרדה לקראת מתן זריקה. התקן ההזרקה יכול גם לסייע במתן מנות נוספות (לדוגמה, זריקות לתיקון וזריקות בזמן אכילת חטיפים בין הארוחות). ילדים ובני נוער יוכלו אף הם להפיק תועלת מ-i-Port Advance™ ולהיעזר בו כדי להיות עצמאיים יותר במתן אינסולין. אם יש לך סוכרת מסוג 2, ואתה משתמש חדש באינסולין, זוהי דרך מצוינת לשפר את המעבר לקבלת זריקות.
ניתן להשתמש בהתקן ההזרקה גם בעטים וגם במזרקים. המחטים חייבות להיות באורך 5-8 מ"מ (3/16-5/16”) ובעובי 32-28 G.
ניתן להשתמש בשניהם, אך זה הכלל: תמיד יש להזריק תחילה את האינסולין קצר הטווח, להמתין שעה, ולאחר מכן להזריק את האינסולין ארוך הטווח.
